What an amazing hope there is in anticipating a new year abiding with a God that is eternally faithful and fully longing to ever love me. Whatever may be out in front of me, the same loving presence I experienced last year is already into my future.
As I write this, Karina and I are only a couple days away from receiving our first missions team at the Bambu base. As they anticipate with hearts of service to minister to the little churches, we in turn anticipate with joyful longing that their own lives will be touched with the presence of the work that God is doing here in Talamanca. That they would arrive safely, enrich themselves in giving to others and go home refreshed and invigorated.
Even though the Nest site is still very much a construction zone, we will be blessing the site and the workers, and then moving off to minister and encourage the churches in the nearby villages, to spread the Word, hold children’s camps and Bible studies. We know that our developing work of the Nest can only see fruition through the unity of the spirit with our fellow believers in the community and so our focus on this first mission team is to fortify our bonds with them.
At the Bambu base the table is set, the beds made ready and the food prepared in great anticipation of a rich time of fellowship and togetherness as we fill up on the bounty of God’s limitless love.
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." 1 John 4:16
