7 souls saved on resurrection Sunday

I have some great news to share with you all. Last weekend we hosted our first ever three-day youth conference at the Nest. Thirty-four young people attended and they were so excited to have an event just for them. Our ministry partners from a San Jose mission came all the way down here to run the camp. Teaching, dancing, crafts, and games up at our soccer field, all filled them with healthy meaningful memories. One night was a movie night before bedtime and the next was a campfire with marshmallows, a first for most of them.

The excellent news is that on the last nights teaching, seven of them came forward for prayer and accepted a new life with Jesus as their savior. We’re thrilled to have been part of it and look forward to hosting many more conferences just like it.

Yes we had to improvise in some places, and our well ran dry on the second day, but we managed to work it out and really pulled together as a team.

Please be in prayer for these camps, as they cost quite a bit to organize and we currently do not have the budget to keep them going. We’re hopeful that God will provide, so if you can give please do.

Besides the camp last weekend, we are meeting as a team each Monday morning for planning sessions, devotions, and coffee, and the eight of us are growing closer together as we labour in unison for the mission of the Nest.

We’re also looking forward to having Chicho our builder return the first week of May to continue building the houses. He’s been on medical leave since last December, and we hope for a speedy recovery and a return of his leadership.

One last bit of exciting news is that we’ve started planting our signature crop of vanilla at our farm, it’s been some intense work turning the jungle into an organized plantation, but it’s starting to look more and more like a real farm.

We’re always busy, continually turning our needs over to God and living in gratitude for His blessing on our endeavors. I look forward to updating you again soon.

With love & gratitude
